DESCRIPTION: A gorgeous Victorian brooch that displays lovely clear Chester Hallmarks. The Chester Assay office closed down in 1962 making pieces baring the Chester hallmark highly sought after and quite collectable. This brooch has lovely crisp hallmarks and is assay dated 1888 making it a Victorian piece. The brooch is in incredible condition and is crafted in solid 9ct yellow gold that is old and has a warm slight pink hue. It has a 9ct gold safety pin style body with two, star type plates on the front. The plates have gorgeous hand engraved leaf type detail to the outer and each has a horseshoe in the center. This would have been given to a loved one for luck.
